So well into the “rebound” phase now and I am very fortunate to be in a good place for my body to handle this well thus far. Some people may not be in a good spot post show for several reason, one of them been having to almost kill themselves leading into the end of prep which usually leads to them simply need time off training etc immediately post contest, which obviously means no rebound as such because you simply cannot train hard enough to ensure a high nutrient is going to convert to new tissue.
Thankfully I came out of prep feeling quite good and even better this past week. My rebound/offseason diet is substantially high in calories compared to my contest diet and completely goes against the “slow reverse diet” mentality which is a blanket approach that many won’t benefit from in my opinion…as I said it would depend highly upon the state your’e in.
Anyway, here is what the new diet looks like:
3 HIGH days 250P 825C 0F + cheat last meal
3 MED days 300P 400C 38F
1 LOW day 300P 240C 54F
Training is going great and slightly higher volume compare to what I was doing, I seem to be responding even better. Very happy with how this is all moving ahead…I should see some nice new tissue come the end of this phase.
I have incorporated insulin on my HIGH days now as well to assist shuttle nutrients …. I am doing this:
7iu with M1
7iu with M2
7iu Pre WO (which 90mins is after M3)
I started at 4iu and have titrated upward before going hypo…so far I am ok.
