With our daughters growing up way faster than we would like, the home is starting to feel crowded so a few months ago we decided to sell and move into a larger home. Unfortunately shortly after making this decision the bloody market crashed here in Melbourne so it was a bit of a rush to sell and get as much as we could. Thankfully it sold at auction last weekend! This was great timing given prep starts this coming weekend and with far less stress from this.
I took a few days off the last few days just to rest up before tackling prep hard. I’d rather not have to de-load or back off too early in prep so I thought this was wise. I wrote a new program based on Jordan Peters principles which I have found has served me quite well this past year. It’s a LEGS/PUSH/PULL split and I will train 3 on, 1 off, repeat. I wrote 3 different rotations on the days to ensure I can progress for a longer time frame, not get too bored and hopefully continuously get stronger for most of the prep.
Day 1 LEGS looked like this:
Preacher machine 1×8-10, 1×12-15
1 arm DB Spider curl 2×12-15
Rope cable curl 1×20
Lying leg curl 1RPx12
Leg Presses 2×12-20
Hack Squats 2×10-12
BB Glute Bridge 1×8-10, 1×12-15
Single Leg ext 6×4
DB Split squats 1×20/leg
Adductors 1RPx12
Standing Calves 1RPx15
Brilliant session…legs were smoked and absolutely no knee or lower back pain 🙂
