I am currently a little under 10 and 12 weeks out from my shows this year.
So far, so good! π
I feel like I am in a better spot than I was at this time last prep.
& I hit a new low this week… 123.6 pounds. Woo!!!
My macros seem to be in a good spot. I’m not very hungry, I have good energy, and I’m still losing about 1 pound a week. And my cardio has been nice! Coach just increased it to 30 mins fasted, 5 days a week and 30 mins post workout, 4 days a week.
I’ve always been one to do a TONΒ of cardio, 7 DAYS A WEEK. So this is low for me π
Now that you are kinda updated on my prep…
I wanted to talk about how to prep/diet/stick to the plan while you are on the road.
Dieting is already pretty challenging for most people when they are at home and in their normal routine.
And then put them on a plane, in a hotel, and in a new city with yummy BBQ… Most would say, “SCREW THIS DIET! YOLO!” Hahaha.
And don’t get me wrong… I’ve had my moments where I’ve done that. But definitely not while in contest prep!!!
So how did I plan & prep for 5 days halfway across the U. S.?
First things first, I write down everything I need to do EACH DAY.
Example:
-Fasted Cardio
-Explore the city
-Gym
-Bed
And I will do this for each day.
I will pack clothes for each thing. Mainly for each gym session. LOL.
Then I will make sure that I have all the supplements that I need for the day. And each gym session, if you need any aminos or intra-workout or pre, etc…
Then I cook all my normal foods… But instead of putting them in tupperware in my fridge… I put all the food in ziplock bags. That way they can fit in the bottom of my IsoPack.
Then when I get to where I’m going… I will go to the grocery store and get other things that I couldn’t/didn’t bring.
Like…
-Condiments (which I do bring sometimes)
-Seasonings
-Other carb sources (fruit)
-Gallons of water and zero calorie drinks
I also pack empty tupperwares. That way I can pack my meals for the days that I’m not in my hotel.
And of course, I pack my food scale.
Oh! Another thing you guys can do when traveling… If you don’t want to bring a bunch of food.
You can order from a meal prep company.
You can also get a hotel with a small kitchen in your room. Extended Stay is a good one.
That way you can just go grocery shopping when you arrive, and do all your cooking there.
I actually bring all my food and food scale on the plane with me!
Sometimes they have to search my bag at security… But it’s quick and easy (just make sure your ice pack is completely frozen).
Now, how do I get my cardio and training sessions in?
I’m a huge planner. So I generally have all my days mapped out ahead of time. And this comes in handy when it comes to making the time to get in all my workouts.
That’s really the only way to do it. You have to plan and MAKE THE TIME!
If you like to do things in the morning… Then train at night. If you have plans with people in the evening, then workout earlier.
Another good thing to do… Is book a hotel with a fitness center. Some are better than others. I always find pictures online. It also helps if the fitness center is open 24-hours… But that’s not always the case. You just have to make things work.
JUST KEEP YOUR GOALS IN MIND!
Before flying out… You can also looking up gyms in the area you’re traveling to.
I like to find smaller, warehouse, family owned gyms. You just have to call them and let them know you are coming in town. There is normally a day fee. Most of the time it’s about $10.
If you go to a gym like 24 Hour Fitness… They will charge you like $25 for the day. NO THANK YOU!
Even though I have done that… You do what you gotta do.
Let’s summarize everything for you:
-Look up hotel gym or local gyms
-Pack all your food and supps in ziplock bags
-Make sure your ice packs are completely frozen
-Make sure all condiments are under 3oz (jars of nut butters need to be in a checked bag)
-Bring extra tupperware
-Bring your food scale
-If you don’t want to cook, then order from a meal prep company and have it shipped to your hotel
-Map out your days and schedule in your workouts
I think that’s it. I hope that helps you guys!
The biggest thing is to remember what you’re working towards!Β
Don’t give yourself silly excuses to give up on your goals!

More of a question for anybody here, but I travel a lot and was wondering if anyone had issues flying commercially with AIs, peptides, specifically grey area physique enhancement aids? I would assume that I could avoid problems by using my checked bag for this but just wondering what other people have experienced. All hypothetical of course.

I have traveled with peptides and GH in my carry on. I have the Iso Backpack.. So I just put the bottles all the way in the back of the ice pack compartment.. Any needles though should go in the checked bag.
