I’m a bit behind on my blogs–it’s been a busy few weeks and I just haven’t had time to post the logs. For those of you who have been interested in my log and want to follow the guy who I got the idea from, Roddo Baynes is doing his second round of legs EOD for 6 weeks and blogging it on Facebook as well.
I also saw that Dusty Hanshaw did a legs EOD routine for 5 weeks, so it looks like the idea of mega-volume leg training is getting some traction (either that or the idea of self torture is gaining traction).
This workout was a basic one sort of in the style of German volume training.
Calves:
Horizontal calf raise:
6×20
Seated calf raise:
4×15
Lying leg curls:
10×10
Leg press:
10×10
That’s it–the first four sets of leg curls and leg extensions were sort of warm up sets, but the final 6 sets of each exercise were full-on to failure. I use the full stack for 3 sets on leg curls but the final three sets I had to back down a bit because I was losing strength.
I was able to hold my strength on leg press and stayed at a fully loaded leg press for all 6 sets (I think we were at 14 plates per side? I can’t remember exactly how many plates it holds)
