EOD Leg Training – Day 10

Justin Harris leg training EOD troponin nutrition bodybuilding muscle mentor war nutrition training log

This is Christmas Eve morning. I trained with Spencer Whitt. He is up from Tennessee to spend some time with his parents, so we got a leg workout in together.

Started out with horizontal calf raises:

5 sets of about 20 reps.

Seated calf raise:

3 sets, 20 reps.

Lying leg curls:

4 sets, 10 reps. The last set of this one was actually a triple drop set, so it was about 30 reps total, 3 sets of 10.

leg press:

We did 6 sets of 10 reps, building up in weight. The last set was a triple drop set. We started out with I think 14 plates a side for 10 reps, then we dropped 3 plates off one side, did 10 more reps, then 3 plates off the other side, and did 10 more reps, for a total of 30 reps. That was a pretty brutal set. I was ready to bring on my breakfast after that one for sure.

Stiff leg dead lifts:

3 sets, 15 reps. We didn’t go very heavy here, these were just straight bar stiff leg dead lifts, so I don’t usually go to heavy on these.

leg extensions:

3 sets, 15 reps.

Walking lunges:

3 sets across the gym and back. It was about 30 steps total, I think. We went one way down the gym holding 40-pound kettle bells. We dropped them at the halfway mark, and then came back across the gym with no weight 3 sets of that.

Seated leg curls:

3 sets of 12 reps. Not too heavy on these, these are just focused on the squeeze. I get a decent pump on my glutes and hamstrings just from the walking lunges, so I like to do a kind of a hamstring movement and just really focus on the squeeze.

Sissy squats supersetted with hack machine sissy squats.

We did 15 reps on the sissy squats, and then 10 reps on the hack squat, and 3 sets total on that.

Adductor machine:

2 sets for 20 reps.

That was it. It was about an hour and a half workout. We went pretty quick, maybe a little too quick because I really wanted to do squats, but during the drive set on leg cross and the walking lounges, I was really feeling pretty wrecked and plus doing the legs in the morning after doing legs Tuesday night, remember it was only 36 hours between workouts so I was still pretty sore, at least that was my excuse for not doing squats. I’ve been trying to do squats at least once a week, but it’s been maybe I think 4 workouts since I did squats. Since we’re doing legs every other day, that’s about a little over a week, so we’ll do squats next workout. That was it, Christmas Eve leg workout, lot of sets, lot of reps, and I’ll enjoy my pig out meal this evening.
