Hey all,
I’m Triv Naidoo, I thought my first post should be a little intro so you can get to know me better.
I’m a coach/personal trainer living in Melbourne, Australia. Married with two young girls (4yrs and almost 2yrs) who are a beautiful challenge on a daily basis. I’m 34yrs old and been training for over 15 years, however, I’ve only really gotten more serious about body building and started competing 4 years ago. I found it exhilarating and ‘caught the bug’ so to speak.
I’ve followed Justin’s work since the early days on t-nation and when I saw him get back in the game I was keen to get his assistance. I found, even after working with some decent coaches, I could simply relate more to Justin. Given that he also has a young family, working, training and trying to balance everything has helped me relate to his life. It’s a challenge so say the least…but he gets it done!
We started working together in April 2017, I requested his help to prep me for 2 shows in Sep/Oct.
I was behind the mark, having a poor offseason just prior so I wasn’t really eating enough, nor did I have enough mass….but despite this, he got me on stage in my absolute best shape to date!
Currently I’m in my Offseason, taking this entire year away from the stage to put on some more size, given I’m 6.1ft and I think I competed at around 190lbs last show. I weighed 218lbs this morning with the best condition at this weight so far, so things are moving well. We are aiming to get on stage again in April 2019 where I will be entering a PCA National Show here in Aust, in the Classic division.
After the last show, I gave Jordan Peter’s style of programming a crack and found I responded best to this (lower volume, higher frequency). This is essentially just getting strong AF in lifts that suit your biomechanics best, plus some fluff iso stuff…nothing entirely new. We tend to lose focus on the best basic stuff with so much out there these days.
Diet is obviously cyclic in nature running 3 HIGH days, 2 MEDIUM days and 2 LOW days for now…most I have ever eaten whilst keeping decent condition.
My week looks like this at the moment:
Monday: CHEST/DELTS/ARMS (slightly more Delt focus) – High
Tuesday: BACK/HAMS/GLUTES – Med
Wednesday: OFF – Low
Thursday: CHEST/DELTS/ARMS (slightly more Chest focus) – High
Friday: Legs – High…find I train legs way better the day after a High day rather than been too full on the day.
Saturday: BACK(More width focus) – High
Sunday: OFF – Low
Check in again soon.
